What is SFD1 & SFD2
- SFD1 and SFD2 are security protection levels used by the VW Group to restrict access to certain control modules in newer vehicles. They require online authorization before coding or adaptations can be performed. While you can read fault codes normally, changes in protected modules need SFD approval, with SFD2 being the newer and stricter version.
- SFD2 is used mainly in VW Group vehicles from around 2022 onward.
It is the newer and stricter security level and It is found in some vehicles after 2022.
